Pink Rain Lily is a bulbous plant, quite common in the cultivated
areas of the Himalayas. It is also a popular house plant. It bears linear,
hollow, strap-shaped or grass-like
leaves. The funnel-shaped flowers are solitary, with pink to rose red
tepals. They are borne erect or slightly inclined on flowering stems
10-15 cm long. The deep lilac to purplish spathes are
2.5-3 cm long. There are two lengths of the stamen
filaments - 1.5 cm and 2.1 cm. The anthers are 6 mm long.
The style is thread-like. Pink Rain Lily is native to Mexico to Colombia,
widely cultivated, and naturalized in some parts of the world.
